White House Productions Recording Studio Presents: Monsters of Acoustic Rock #13
Friday, April 21st; $5 at door; Doors @8pm, Show @8:30pm. Facebook event.
White House Productions is thrilled to welcome back Zach Andersen and the Monsters Of Acoustic Rock music series. Our Shelton, CT recording studio has been providing an intimate live experience for concert events for over a year now, showcasing local artists of various musical genres. MOAR #13 will be extra special with the CD release of Zach Andersen’s new album, Imperfect Timing, and welcoming everyone to the aesthetic improvements to our space.
This will be Kathy Muir’s first visit to White House Productions Studios and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome this soulful, Scottish singer-songwriter to our stage. Kathy Muir is from Edinburgh’s south side and her inspiration for pursuing music came from falling in love with catchy folk hymns. This background and a well-traveled life have infused Kathy Muir’s sound with elements of pop, folk, blues, and jazz, with lyrics that paint a landscape of her life journey. Check out Kathy Muir’s third album, Second Life, from September 2016. Kathy Muir is also an accomplished photographer and embraces all things media. Get to know Kathy Muir before the show by viewing her very first “vlogetter” / her vlog newsletter (from March 30th)
MOAR #13 will serve as the backdrop for the CD release of Zach’s new album Imperfect Timing, recorded at White House Productions with Nathan Sage. Imperfect Timing was released for download on iTunes on April 7th, and features appearances by several MOAR and White House Productions veterans. Check out a few pictures captured during the recording process on Zach’s Facebook page, including this one of fellow MOAR #13 performer Laura Klein from Western Estates (courtesy of Zach Andersen).
Here’s to hoping that Laura joins Zach for a duet at the show! Either way we always enjoy Zach’s passionate and revealing, acoustic rocking songs and inviting stage banter.
Western Estates’ debut EP, Me First, was also recorded right here at White House Productions by studio owner and chief engineer, Nathan Sage. Nathan was able capture Western Estates’ self-proclaimed cult rock with all its screaming melodies from vocals, guitars, and cellos over a pounding battery of tuneful rhythm – listen now on bandcamp. Western Estates shared the 5-song collection at a special release show at Lyric Hall in New Haven in December of last year. Since debuting at Lyric Hall, they have been spreading their music throughout Connecticut, New England overall, and New York City. View the video for “You First”, created by Western Estates’ multi-talented vocalist/cellist/artist Laura Klein. This was the first video released in support of their EP release, one year in the making. Learn more about Laura’s creative process over on the Western Estates website.
Plumrose is original indie pop from Connecticut, currently recording an album at White House Productions with Nathan Sage. Recording is still underway, so hopefully we’ll be able to experience some new tracks live, prior to the completion of the album. If you aren’t already following us, Nathan has been documenting Plumrose’s recording milestones on the White House Productions Instagram page.
We hope to see you all here on Friday, April 21st!

- If you use the parking lot, look for the large sign for “Valley Karate” (the parking lot is to the Left of “Photography by Roman”).
- Street parking is also totally cool.
- You no longer need to use the wooden stairs on the left-side of the building… INSTEAD use the front door that is street-side, to the right of Photography by Roman, but a little ways down to the right.
- You will see two glass doors with a sign for a ‘party’ place and we’ll also post the flyer as signage to follow.
- Go through the glass doors and then another set of doors straight ahead. Keep following the flyers…
- Take the first right through the ‘fire marshal warning’ door and head up the stairs. You’ll come out directly in front of the door for the studio! (again, our flyer will be with you along your walk – don’t be shy!).
